1st Meeting
Building bridges between Religions
On Thursday, March 15th,
Le Bascala conference hall of Toulouse-Bruguières hosted an exceptional evening on
the links between religions for a world in peace: the Oath of Humanity ©.
The purpose of the event was to bring together great spiritual leaders around a common action, outside their usual fields of action. It was chaired by Sheikh Khaled Bentounes, spiritual leader of of the Alâwiyya Sufi Order, Founding President of AISA ONG Internationale and of the Muslim Scouts of France (among the eminent guests of the evening), and Initiator of the International Day of Living Together in Peace (JIVEP – every May 16).
Evelyne Mesquida concluded the speeches by explaining her vision of the possible solutions for the betterment of the world. She took up the fundamental ideas of the evening about the concept of bonding and acting in synergy.
Without dogmaticism, the speakers exposed the path to peace that is followed in their community!
With benevolence and hope, sometimes with humour, the audience (re)discovered the paths of fulfilment centered on respect, mutual help and responsibility
With Mgr Samir Nassar, Maronite Archbishop of Damascus, the audience turned to the Syrian tragedy with great emotion. He would not know how long he is to survive so he gave his speech like he was sharing his will, both with restrain and great intensity. After his short visit in France, he returned to Syria, under the bombs. Thank you to all donators: thanks to their generosity, they participate in the rehabilitation of a bombed house in Damascus into a shelter for young students girls.
Accompanied by Karim Rahhaoui, honorary consul of Mali for Toulouse-Midi Pyrénées-Occitanie, Mintou Traoré Doucouré, former First Lady of Mali and today an Ambassadress of the FIMB movement, came to support this outstanding action. Marie-Josée Allen, Deputy Mayor of Bruguières and Eliane Cubero-Castan, Deputy Mayor of Saint-Orens de Gameville were also present.
The evening would not have had such an impact without the partners of the event: ABC TALK Productions and his manager Marc Leval who brilliantly moderated the lectures, AISA International NGO, Artas and Reflets.
The convention ended with a performance by The Blue Swan Guild, FIMB’s company of artists for non-violence. The grandiose finale masterfully directed by the young and inspired choreographer Sarah Mesquida was much appreciated.
A Truly Memorable Evening!
We wish to particularly compliment the Buddhists for their exceptional participation: Venerable Dagpo Rinpoche and Domaine de Lembrun gave us a generous donation. Thank you for this commitment to us!
